Last Saturday, I watched Zach Harrison from Olentangy Orange High School anchor the school’s 4X200 relay to a first place finish. Ran a strong leg. Fast.
n the 200m dash, he ran a 21.58!!!!!!! Regardless, that is “smokin.” What makes this amazing is that Zach is almost 6’6 and weighs (guessin-245).
What makes this really amazing is that Zach is only a 10th grader. A 10th grader!
Even better, he plays DE on the varsity football team. Also plays some TE as well, but for now, I really like what he does on defense. Remember 6’6.
Last fall, I watched him on the football field. Lined up at defensive end and had really good “get off.” Long and really quick for his size. Good speed to the QB. Needs to improve change of direction and play a little more pad under pad. But he will.
Plays tight end , as well. Gets down field and is a big target. Needs to improve ball catching skills. But thought he blocked well.
For now, Zach must be considered the top Ohio recruit in the Class of 2019. I am sure that seems a “given,” but I have not seen all of the top guys the Ohio 2019 Class in person yet.
Something else that impressed me. He told the Rivals camp people that he was too stiff and sore to participate in the camp yesterday. I did not see him. He did not just show up to walk around and maybe do some interviews. Rest. Rest. And rest. District Track Meet this week.
I took the picture really, really, really quickly, after wishing him the best. He had his “game face” and, I knew it.
