Two Underclassmen to Watch in Dayton Area

Max Wynn from Centerville and Willeon Yates from Springboro were two underclassmen that impressed my last night. Both need to get bigger/stronger and bigger yet. But both can run and both can make plays.

Watched Max last year as a sophomore. Ran well, but needed to get bigger. Much the same is true this year. Guessin 6’1-205, he plays inside linebacker. Like his toughness. Plays downhill. Gets through traffic to makes plays. Runs well and gets to the outside. Finishes plays. Good initial quickness.

Very active linebacker. Needs to improve his pursuit angles at times. Needs to be more consistent on inside running plays. As he gets bigger/stronger his speed will get better. Runs well, but needs to get faster.

Max is a very good baseball player, as well. Athleticism shows on the field. Plays middle return on kickoff returns. Competes hard and no lack of toughness.

Sophomore Willeon Yates plays slot and has extremely quick feet. Good vision. Good burst. A lot of shake and back. Can break tackles. Gets north/south quickly. Athletic. Basketball point guard.

Caught the ball on the run and has alittle 5th gear. Also tough kick return guy. Durable.willeon

Biggest weakness now, is size. Guessin 5’8-145. Needs to get physically stronger and.

I watch mostly underclassmen, but senior Jake Siewak (Centerville) played well at split end. Guessin 6’3-200 and really strong. Gets separation, but needs to be faster. Good hands. Sliding under the radar as a receiver.

Both Max and Willeon are D1 prospects. Both have the athleticism and toughness, but so much depends on how much bigger/stronger than can get. Both need good off seasons. Max is a really good baseball player. Willeon is a very good basketball player, playing JV as a 9th grader.
